Research Readiness Day 2023
CEAR Core Senior Research Project Manager Krista Scheffey, MPH, MSW presented at Research Readiness Day in February 2023. Her presentation included updates to our Community Partner Training. Cores Day 2020
CEAR Core Director, Karen Glanz, PhD, MPH, presented at Cores Day on September 24, 2020. Cores Day featured presentations about core facilities at the Perelman School of Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and The Wistar Institute. Ethical issues in community-based research
On February 3, 2020, CEAR Core Director, Karen Glanz, PhD, MPH, presented “Ethical issues in the design and conduct of community-based research,” at the Penn Research Ethics and Policy Series (PennREPS) seminar. Dr. Glanz shared case studies on community-based research dilemmas, and questioned the audience on how they would handle the situation.

Community Scholars in Residence
On February 13, 2019, Joseph Benci, a member of the second cohort of Community Scholars in Residence, will be giving a presentation on his work with the Philadelphia Multiple Myeloma Group. Benci researched the current materials cancer survivors receive, and then used this information to develop improved care plans for survivors.

2017 Prevention Research Center Annual Meeting
CEAR Core work on the Community-Scholars-in-Residence Program was featured at the annual meeting of the Prevention Research Centers, hosted by the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, in November 2017.
