The study aimed to improve glycemic control in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) by combining text messaging (TM) with financial incentives. The researchers believed that this approach can help address the challenges faced by adolescents in managing their diabetes, such as pubertal growth, neurocognitive development, and socio-emotional demands. The study used a web-based TM application called MyDiaText™ to deliver the intervention and compare its effectiveness to routine care.
